The original Peaky Blinders

The gangster family epic set in 1919, centres on the Peaky Blinders gang and their ambitious and highly dangerous boss Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy). The gang comes to the attention of Chief Inspector Chester Campbell (played by Sam Neill), a detective in theRoyal Irish Constabulary sent over from Belfast (where he'd been sent to clean up the city of the IRA, gangs, and common criminals). Winston Churchill (played by Andy Nyman in series 1 and Richard McCabe in series 2) charged him to suppress disorder and uprising in Birmingham and recover a stolen cache of arms meant to be shipped to Libya.

The main brothers of the Peaky Blinders

The style really depicts the harsh times for many and through the series when the brothers build their fortune you can really see their style change. Lots of three-piece tweed suits, heavy wool overcoats, band collar shirts, boots and broad flat caps. Charcoals and grays set the tone with the odd navy, taupe or burgundy popping into screen, this style is definitely something to look out for in winter months.
