I drink to make other people more interesting.

There's nothing better than kicking back with some friends on a rooftop bar in the city on a sunny afternoon. It's almost a 'must do' for Melbournian's at this time of year; whether it's on a day off or after work, rooftop bars and balconies are everywhere in this town. I often get asked what I wear when I go out to clubs and bars, and in the hopes of answering that question I caught up with a few friends (including an amateur photographer) for some drinks a couple of nights ago.

As you guys probably know by now, I'm a big advocate for dressing in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident, I honestly think they're the only 'fashion' rules that everyone should follow.

Taking my own advice, I chose this outfit after considering the temperature and the place that I was going. The end result is what I would consider to be smart/casual. Trousers, a polo, linen shirt jacket and loafers -  This is generally how I dress when I'm going out casually to a bar, cafe, restaurant or the cinema.

If this was a more formal occasion, or I was heading out to a club where I thought that something may get spilled on me (or my loafers stepped on) I would have chosen a more practical outfit. But this ensemble was great for kicking back with some great company over a couple of drinks.
